Wild Harvesting

Wild Skincare is dedicated to harvesting our plants and botanicals in a sustainable manner.

This means that we only take a small portion of the leaves and leave the plant essentially intact so that it will continue to grow and reproduce.

We are aware of the wildlife that inhabits the areas we harvest and we ensure that we leave no footprint - no damage to the area. This practice stands for terrestrial plants and ocean plants such as the kelp and seaweeds you find in your Wild product.

Because we harvest so carefully in this way, each season we are able to go back and revisit the same areas and gather ingredients all over again without exhausting the soil or the plant. We have been harvesting Labrador Tea in the same area now for 5 years!

Our partner Dafne Romero of North Pacific Kelp, harvests kelp in this same manner. Less  than 10% of the kelp beds are harvested at one time, leaving a sustainable and healthy marine canopy. Visit her website to see the care that she uses when harvesting in the Pacific Ocean kelp beds around Haida Gwaii.

Be the adventure. Be wild.
